Vacancy - Information Resources Management Customer Service Support

Responsibilities
  1. Stand by at the Library circulation desk and perform basic services and guidance to library users in getting books, meeting reports, and other information as available at library.
  2. Perform circulation desk procedures, such as, checking in/out materials, manage overdue and missing materials.
  3. Manage Circulation database, such as request for returning, reserving and extending materials.
  4. Manage Multimedia collection:
    • Register the collection.
    • Perform data entry and cataloguing process; classify and determine subject heading; provide efficient captions and keywords of the files.
    • Update back-up softcopy files.
    • Upload the files into the database.
    • Conduct document labelling and repository activities.
    • Recommend and suggest services needed to properly maintain the collection.
  5. Sort and register of all incoming documents: subscriptions, letters, invoices, journals, newspapers, etc.
  6. Manage newspapers and journals to be displayed and distributed.
  7. Assist in collection management activities (labelling, shelving, weeding, etc.).
  8. Assist in the Library/Archives digitisation efforts.
  9. Provide other administrative functions as required:
    • Manage the back issue of periodical collections (newspapers, magazines and journals) to be bound/discarded.
    • Assist in preparing administrative letters.
  10. Perform other tasks and functions as assigned by Senior Officer/Officer/Associate Officers.
